Nutrition & Health

Ensuring beef is included in dietary recommendations for a healthy lifestyle. The Nebraska Beef Council educates health professionals, school educators, and athletic coaches about beef nutrition and beef production. By partnering with trusted health professional organizations, and disseminating science-based beef information, it helps to amplify third-party endorsements of beef's inclusion in a healthy diet. Positioning beef as part of a healthy diet helps to ensure health professionals and educators are confident in recommending beef as part of a balanced diet.

Health Professionals Outreach

The Nebraska Beef Council reaches health professionals with resources highlighting the nutritional benefits of beef. The outreach includes attending health professionals conferences & symposiums providing third-party nutrition experts who share the latest research on beef nutrition. Building relationships with registered dietitians, cardiac rehab staff, nurses, and advance practice clinicians has led to hosting healthy beef cooking classes, presentations and other tailored programs at healthcare facilities across the state including UNMC, Omaha Methodist, CHI, and the UNL nutrition department. The programs have a range of audiences including employees, physicians, patients, and students.

The program provides science-based education about beef’s role in a healthy diet, showcases the latest research on nutrition and wellness, and offers firsthand insight into beef production practices. By connecting participants with experts in both nutrition and agriculture, the Nutrition Adventure helps bridge the gap between food, health, and where it comes from.
