"The ranching life is the only life for me. I love to garden, work in the yard and make jewelry. I don't help as much with cattle as I used to - I leave that up to the guys and hired man. When I'm in the kitchen, I usually cook from scratch. Here on the ranch, we eat a lot of beef: roasts, steaks and burgers. I still cook the old-fashioned way with meat, potatoes, vegetables and a salad. This is one of my favorite appetizers to serve when we all get together. It's almost a meal in itself!
