french Beef & Noodles

“This recipe was a Beef Cookoff winner many years ago and our ranch crews love when we serve it!”    

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz, egg noodles 
  • 8 oz, cream cheese, crumbled 
  • 1 ½ cup, Velveeta, cubed 
  • ½ cup, onions, chopped 
  • ½ Tbls, garlic 
  • 2 lbs, hamburger, browned 
  • 6 oz, tomato paste 
  • 4 oz, mushroom (fresh or canned) 
  • basil and parsley, to taste 
  • 1 ½ cup, breadcrumbs 
  • ½ cup, parmesan cheese 
  • 1 cup, grated cheddar cheese

Cooking:

  1. Cook noodles, drain. Put noodles in 9x13 deep casserole dish and add crumbled cream cheese and cubed Velveeta. Stir together. Sprinkle basil and parsley. 
  2. Add onions and garlic to browned hamburger, add tomato paste, PLUS 2 cans of water to mixture, salt and pepper to taste. Spread over noodle mixture. 
  3. Top with breadcrumbs, grated cheese and parmesan. 
  4. Pour 2/3 cup water over mixture (IMPORTANT)
  5. Bake in 325 degree oven covered for 30 minutes
