Beef & Cheesy Shells

"This is a recipe that’s been a staple in our house for as long as I can remember. I love how simple it is to make and yet hearty enough to feed our crew after a long day’s work. The lightly toasted breadcrumbs on top really make the dish. Enjoy!" - Shannon Peterson, Gothenburg, NE

  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1-2 garlic cloves
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 – 24oz Marinara sauce
  • 12 oz medium sized shells
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

  1. In an oven safe pot, brown ground beef and drain off any fat.
  2. Press garlic into ground beef and cook 30-60 seconds or until fragrant.
  3. Stir in beef broth, marinara and pasta. Bring up to a boil. Then reduce the heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally for 7 to 9 minutes or until pasta is al dente.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the cream cheese until blended.
  5. Mix your seasoned bread crumbs and grated Parmesan cheese and sprinkle over pasta. Place under broiler for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
